RAEWYN BREWER

Raewyn Brewer is a corporate governance lawyer at WATSON.  Raewyn evaluates the effectiveness of governance structures and practices and builds effective governance frameworks and high performing boards.  Prior to joining WATSON, Raewyn was a corporate commercial lawyer at Farris, where she worked with public and private companies on debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations.  During some of her time at Farris, Raewyn was seconded to MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA) as Corporate Counsel, where she assisted the senior executive team and legal department in a variety of corporate and securities matters.

Raewyn graduated from the University of Victoria with her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law, where she received the Honourable William McIntyre Medal as the graduating student with the highest qualities of academic excellence, student leadership and community service.  After graduation, Raewyn served as a judicial law clerk at the BC Court of Appeal.

Raewyn serves as a Director of the Vancouver Society of Children's Centres, one of Canada's largest childcare providers.  She serves on the Finance Committee and the Human Resources Committee.  Raewyn’s past board experience includes the Association of Women in Finance (Vice Chair) and the Dean’s Women’s Advisory Committee (Chair).  Raewyn is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Institute of Corporate Directors, the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association and the Association of Women in Finance.
