Changes in Effect as of August 11, 2026

The Employment Standards Tribunal advises that it has updated its Appeals information and issued a new Practice Directive.


These updates reflect the Tribunal’s ongoing commitment to improving clarity, transparency, and procedural efficiency, and to ensuring that parties understand their obligations when bringing or responding to matters before the Tribunal.

What Has Changed

New and Updated Forms, Guides, and Information Materials

Effective August 11, 2026, the Tribunal has introduced updated forms, guides, and procedural information materials to support parties in meeting filing requirements and understanding Tribunal processes. These include:

  • Appeal Form
  • Guide to the Appeal Form
  • Appeal Process Information

These materials are intended to provide clearer direction on how to complete and file applications, the information required at each stage, and the Tribunal’s procedural expectations.

New Practice Directive

The following Practice Directive is in effect as of August 1, 2026

  • Practice Directive 2026-020 (Statutory Requirements (Deposits)) [2026-08-01]

What This Means for Parties

Parties are encouraged to review the updated materials carefully. In particular:

  • filings must comply with updated and clarified requirements at the outset;
  • certain submissions may require additional information or documentation; and
  • failure to comply with applicable requirements may affect the processing of an appeal or application.
